Optimization of an Analytical Method for Indoxacarb Residues in Fourteen Medicinal Herbs Using GC–μECD, GC–MS/MS and LC–MS/MS

Pesticide residue analysis in medicinal herbs is a challenging task because of the matrix effect and its influence on quantitative despite continuous development several new analytical methods instrumentations. In this study, modified QuEChERS method was developed for indoxacarb by using conventional instrument, gas chromatography micro-electron-capture-detector (GC–μECD), comparing it with chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (GC–MS/MS) liquid (LC–MS/MS). Samples were extracted acetonitrile purified an NH2 cartridge. The optimized efficiently removes co-extractives offered limit quantification 0.01 mg kg−1. GC–μECD results seven out fourteen species at fortification level kg−1 showed recovery range 79.7–117.6%, while rest > 120%. Similarly, GC LC–MS/SM 74.1–105.9 73.0–99.0%, respectively, relative standard deviation <20%. Matrix effects majority analyzed GC–MS/MS >±20%. Whereas LC–MS/MS <20%, which within acceptable according to SANTE/11312/2021 guidelines. Considering performance alignment regulatory guidelines, recommended selected herbs.
